PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak launched booklets to guide investors on investment in Iskandar Malaysia, the main southern development corridor in Johor.

Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) chief executive officer Ismail Ibrahim said the booklets provided in-depth analyses and value propositions for nine sectors across Iskandar Malaysia's five flagship zones.

“These booklets show what is important for each sector. They serve as a guide and reference for investors and potential investors to ensure that opportunities and policies will be clearly spelled out,” he said after the launch at the Prime Minister's office where Najib chaired the 10th meeting of IRDA yesterday.

It was also attended by Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman.

Six of the booklets concerned the services and service-related sectors of logistics, tourism, healthcare, education, creative and financial services.

Three others are on the manufacturing sectors of electrical and electronics, oil and chemicals and food and processing of agro-products, said Ismail.

He said IRDA will also provide periodic updates as investor opportunities and policies change.

“We will definitely update the booklets. Changes are common and we will be sensitive to the needs of investors should any future information arise in terms of opportunities and policies,” he said.

Ismail said the booklets were aimed not just at investors but also at local agencies and industry personnel who dealt with policies and regulations.

All nine booklets are available for download on Iskandar Malaysia's website at www.iskandarmalaysia.com.my.

Currently the booklets are in English to suit an international audience but they will be translated into Bahasa Malaysia, he added.
