SME Bank gives SMEs an opportunity to present business ideas via IQ-Dagang [ 18-03-2011 ]

KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 (Bernama) -- SME Bank is still giving small and medium sized enterprises the opportunity to bring out their business ideas through the IQ-Dagang programme.

Its Managing Director, Datuk Mohd Radzif, said as of January 116 business ideas have been received by the bank since the programme was launched last October.

From these, 15 business ideas have been accepted and developed into successful ventures to the point of receiving financing, he said.

The IQ-Dagang programme is an idea box where business ideas and plans are first brought to the attention of experts in business. From here, the plans are taken further to develop them into progressive and profitable businesses.

Registration for the programme is open four times a year, Mohd Radzif said during the launch of IQ-Dagang here today.

SME Bank is looking at business plans or ideas that could come under the 12 National Key Economic Areas (NKEA) which have been identified with initial focus on six strategic industries namely oil and gas, education, construction, health, food and transportation and logistics.

Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir officiated the event today.
